Bird in Blue

This was the first oil painting I did in college. I wanted to get into this hobbie that i've always loved but didn't have the time to due to school work. Well it was my last year and I had a light schedule that quarter so It seemed like a good time to start. My girlfriend took this photo of a bird perched on a dead branch in front of a lagoon that I really liked. I genuinely don't know how it came out as good as it did. I am still trying to reach the level that this painting reached. Hopefully one day.
